Reading List Available
A complete list of chronological readings with links to the NRSV, NIV, and The Message.
These are chronologically listed in the order that the events are believed to have taken place.
It should be noted that there will always be theological disagreements about the placement of books, events, etc. It is not as simple as just saying “A” definitely happened before “B”.
Then there’s a “problem” about when things were written. For example, imagine I was born in 1960. I could write about being 16 in 1976, when I was 16 (e.g. a diary), or in 2020, when I turn 60 (e.g. a memoir). But if I wrote about being 16 when I was 60, would you list it as “Age 16”?
Some of the Biblical stories are like that, and they are listed in the order when the events happened, not necessarily in the order they were actually written.
This is not necessarily a “fatal flaw”, just something to be aware of as you read. There is no canonical, universally-agreed up “chronological order”. We chose the version by Tyndale (Amazon.com link) because it was readily available.
Update 2009-01-07: If you bookmark http://www.gfpc.org/today it will automatically bring you to the current day. (Note: right right-clicking on that link and bookmarking it from there. If you left-click on it and then bookmark it, you will bookmark the current day’s page and your bookmark will stay on that date.)
